HURT COMFORT PROMPTS

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little papercut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though...
6. BREAKUP. You've been dumped. You need someone to comfort you, possibly by the one who dumped you.
7. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to makeup.
8. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
9. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheated on, abused, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
10. LOSS. You've experience a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
11. INSANITY. You're seeing things that aren't really there, hearing voices, or you're just convinced you're at your wit's end finally and you're going to crack. Maybe someone can give you a helping hand.
12. TIRED. You've had a heard life recently and you're just worn too thin to really care anymore. There's no fight left in you anymore. Can someone help change your mind?
13. ADDICTION. Drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, or any other type of addiction has got you in its grasp. First time or relapse. Will someone be able to save you?
14. INSOMNIA. You can't sleep anymore, no matter how hard you try. Maybe someone can give you company.
15. NIGHTMARES. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, you can't sleep without gruesome, horrible nightmares. Either someone is stuck in your dream with you, witnessing it or they're just waking you up, soothing you out of it.
16. BLACKMAIL. You've been caught doing something you shouldn't and you were blackmailed because of it
17. SEPARATION. You're going to be separated for awhile or were separated for a long time. Either make up for lost time or try to spend every last moment together.
18. VIOLATED. You've been violated in some way. Can include sexual overtones or not. Can someone help you through it?
19. STRANDED. You've been stranded somewhere remote, with no help of anyone finding you for awhile. Can you survive this together?
20. SINS. You're feeling the weight of your sins and guilt clearer than ever. Can someone give you absolution or lessen the ache any?
21. SECRET. It's difficult having to keep that secret of yours, be it a relationship or something you just don't want to share with anybody else. Maybe it's okay to talk about it now though...
22. ADDITION. Babies should be joyous things unless you're in a situation where you know you won't be able to care for them. Either you've adopted or found out you're pregnant.
23. AMNESIA. What it says on the tin. Why do these come with such detailed responses?

AFFECTIONATE PHYSICAL CONTACT PROMPTS

one; hugging. you just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.

two; kissing. whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.

three; holding hands. it's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. but that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. what the sentiment is, is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.

four; carrying. is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? do they want a piggyback ride? or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination.

five; i love you. you've said it before or maybe you haven't but now you have to say it again or for the first time.

six; dancing. kick up the music, because it's time to dance! but no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! you can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. personally, i recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!

seven; massaging. did your significant other have a rough day? did they get hurt? or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. they'll feel wonderful in no time!

eight; flirting. the easiest way to break the ice or maybe you're just an overly flirty person.

nine; cuddling. sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.

ten; wild card! reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!

[Not so interested right now in H/C prompts 11 or 18, open to the others. Therion isn't exactly the cuddliest person, so I'm happy to figure out ahead of time where in the CR our characters are to make things happen!]

[Therion doesn't usually announce his visits ahead of time, and he might reasonably think that when Atsushi takes a while to answer the door that he's just not home. He may even be considering the benefits of letting himself in - it's not like it'd be hard - when Atsushi finally pulls the door open.

He looks... not great. Pale, definitely leaning a little bit on the doorframe for support.]

Ah - Therion. Sorry, I'm probably not a very good host right now...

[Therion's expression shifts from idle musing to concern in a flash. Instantly, he's reaching for Atsushi's arm to steady him, as if he might collapse before his eyes like a pile of ash.]

What's wrong?

Just a little sick- [His breath rattles when he takes one in.] -it's not a big deal.

[Frowning, Therion raises his other hand, gentle and careful, to Atsushi's forehead.]

[That Sure Is A Fever.]

[Uh-huh.]

Right. Bed.

[Keeping his first hand on Atsushi's arm, he gestures back into the house.]

Lean on me if you need.

[He could argue that he doesn't need the help, but... he really does feel awful.]

Sorry.

[Leaning on Therion for support.]

[For once, Therion doesn't argue whether or not Atsushi has anything to be sorry about (even though he doesn't). He just says:]

It's all right.

[Carefully, he escorts Atsushi step by step back to his room, right there to provide balance, until the bed's there to sit on. He even helps Atsushi sit, taking his hand until his butt finds the mattress.]

It's your throat? Chest?

[Gratefully, Atsushi has a seat. He doesn't let go of Therion's hand even when he does sit down, like he might in other circumstances.]

Chest. My lungs have always been weak, so...

[When he gets sick like this, something that might be a mild annoyance to someone else is incapacitating for him.]

Okay. Don't talk.

[He doesn't pull his hands away so much as gently draw them free. One immediately goes back up to Atsushi's forehead, sliding up underneath his hair to rest against the skin. Then Therion turns towards the head of the bed, readjusting pillows so Atsushi can lie back without going totally horizontal, turning back the covers.]

Here.

[You know, sometimes it's a little understandable why he got yeeted off a cliff for being bossy.]

[Darius has never been valid or understandable in his life and Atsushi will die on this hill.

Atsushi doesn't take much coaxing to lie back in a more comfortable position. He does open his mouth to say something - probably 'please don't worry' - but shuts it before Therion can scold him for talking right after he said not to.

...at least for a minute.]

[Aw yiss, the sweet validation of being listened to. He tucks Atsushi in and stays close, nudging a lock of hair off his cheek.]

...Tea?

[Nod nod.]

[Therion could point out HE'S not polite, but then, he's also not particularly legal.]

All right. Shh.

[Before he goes, though, he unfastens the cloak from around his shoulders and drapes that lightly over him, too.]

Won't be long.

[Immediately snuggling into the cloak. It's warm and it smells like Therion, perfect combination.]

[Having fire magic means making tea is wonderfully quick. It still gives Therion enough time to collect himself and think through what he plans to do here today. When he returns to Atsushi's room with their cuppas to set beside the bed, he takes his own seat on the edge of the mattress. Not going anywhere.]

Thought I might lie low here for a bit, anyway. I could use a hideout.

[He says it to ward off anything Atsushi might say about keeping him from "more important" business. Idiot. The back of his knuckles come to brush against Atsushi's face and forehead once more.]

[He absolutely was going to say something about that. Therion knows him well.]

...I appreciate the company. It's usually just me and my books.

[He remembers telling Therion before, how he spent much of his childhood bedridden. Therion had questioned his parents leaving him alone, which surprised Atsushi a little - he was sick so often that they couldn't be expected to take time out for him very time it happened, could they?]

Books. [Small huff.] I'll try to be at least as helpful.

[Books can't make you TEA. Except when they're alive or whatever and they can, but that's neither here nor there.]

There medicine you're supposed to take?

For the fever, in the cupboard there. [A hand emerges from the blankets to gesture.] Other than that, it's rest and water.

[He nods and emends that to "soup" in his head. If there's foodstuff in the kitchen, he can make soup. It won't be the best, but it'll be edible. He's kept himself alive on his own cooking this long.]

I can handle that.

[Not ungently, Therion takes Atsushi's hand and tucks it back under the blankets.]

Nudge me when you want the medicine. I'll be here. You need it right now?

In an hour. Is it okay if I take a nap?

[He's really very comfortable like this.]

Once you drink your tea, sure.

[Therion reaches for the cups, sipping his own to test that it's not too hot before offering Atsushi the other.]

Rest and water.

[Oh, right. Atsushi sips his tea.]

It's hard to have much appetite like this.

Yeah. That's why it's good to have someone remind you.
