Then, bit by bit--hesitating every two or three heartbeats--he leans towards the little writer sleeping in the bed, who was once left for him as a treasure to play with and discard. Eventually, his face is close enough to Atsushi's to feel the heat coming off his feverish skin.
Instead of kissing him, Therion closes his eyes and brings their foreheads together. He just stays there like that, listening to Atsushi's breathing.
