If they can get the light rigged to the top of this shed working somehow, they can also have a clear path back to the safety of that truck.
But standing between them and their goal is the injury to Prompto's leg. It's not that the two of them aren't used to being injured in some way or another, but walking without some kind of splint when his leg is as damaged as it is would make it even harder to repair.
