The only reason I have is because...one of my closest friends, Herb Cookie, loves plants very much. He would probably be able to name every single variety that's shown up so far.

I'm sorry that you couldn't see them in a more...peaceful way. This isn't something that usually happens, in my experience...
[There are some plants that are carnivorous- cookievorous, even- but fortunately none of those seem to be an issue, here. At least not yet.]
